I've never exercised before. Can I still attend group classes?

Absolutely! We cater to all levels of fitness and ability. Many of our members are new to our style of training or have been on hiatus for a several years. Our Strength & Balance classes (Tuesdays & Thursdays, 8:30am-9:30am) have two coaches on hand to pay a watchful eye to form and ensure everyone in class is getting the right workout for their ability.

If you'd prefer, we do offer a 4-class personal training pack which lays the foundations for most exercises you will see in class.

What should I bring to class?

We recommend bringing a water bottle! Hydration is important, especially with our lovely Long Beach weather. A yoga mat is nice to have on hand if you prefer exercising with one, but a few extras are also on hand at the studio.

Can I exercise if I have osteoporosis?

Strength training and resistance training can improve bone density and reduce your risk of falls and fractures. Because we only work with women 50 and over, all exercises are designed to accommodate concerns around osteoporosis (for example, no fast rotation around the spine).

What is the difference between Strength & Balance Class and Endurance Circuit?

Great question!

Strength & Balance class is focused on moving with great intention and strategically exercising certain muscle groups and stimulus. For example, we will start with a warm up, move into balance training, then upper body exercise, then finish with core and stretching. Exercises are designed to improve balance, build strength, and reduce pain.

Endurance Circuit class is a faster paced cardio class. We use the machines (rowing machine, stationary bike, sled - and many more) and make our way around various stations. Exercises are designed to improve cardiovascular fitness, stamina, and endurance.

Is everyone really 50 years old and over?

For the most part! All of our clients are women with an average age of mid 60s. We do have a few women in their 40s who feel the programming style and format suits their needs as well.
